Costs (for Bangladeshi Students)

Tuition Fees: Typically, no tuition fee at public universities (for Bachelor, and most Master programs). Some Master’s programmes and private universities may have tuition fees (usually €1, 500- 4, 000 per semester).
Cost Average cost per yearLiving expenses €10,200 – €12,000 (approximately €850 – €1,000 per month) to cover expenses such as accommodation, food, health insurance, etc. You will have to show that you have these resources in order to get a visa.
Over all: Although tuition is low, you will have to cover living expenses.

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service): Provides a variety of scholarships to foreign nationals at all levels.
Deutschlandstipendium: A merit-based scholarship programme sponsored by the German government and private sponsors.

Post-Study Opportunities

Job Search Visa – You may apply for an 18-month residence permit after your degree to look for work.
EU Blue Card: If you find a sufficiently well-paid job of a certain skill level you might be able to acquire an EU-Blue Card, which leads to permanent settlement.
Work Permit: If you don’t meet the requirements for a Blue Card, you can still apply for a regular work permit.

German Student Visa (National Visa)

Bangladeshi applicants wishing to study in Germany, for a period exceeding 90 days, must apply for a National Visa (long term visa, type D).

Key Requirements:

The proof is obtained by a Letter of Admission from a German university.

Evidence of Financial Resources: You must have sufficient financial resources to cover the cost of living in Germany for one year (presently €11,208/year, usually confirmed via a blocked account).
Valid Passport.
Health Insurance.
Proof of Accommodation.
Academic Records.
German Language Skills (for German-taught programs) or English Language Skills (IELTS or TOEFL) for E nglish-taught programs.
Visa Application Form. You’ll have to apply at the German Embassy in Dhaka.
